The Rugby Super League is organized and sanctioned by USA Rugby as the Premier Level of Men's Club competition in the USA.

The Rugby Super League manages and operated the participating member clubs and operates within the guidelines of the United States of America Rugby Football Union and is subject to the international laws of the game.

The 2010 season will showcase 14 teams competing in two conferences with scheduled season play and three rounds of playoff games - culminating in the Rugby Super League Championship match.

The competition runs from Mid March to early June of each year

The Rugby Super League grew out of Rugby Super League LLC and USA Premier Rugby LLC, entities which were designed to :

  • Heighten the visibility of the sport throughout the USA
  • Enhance the competitive structure for the member teams
  • Create a higher level of club competition
  • Create a consistent schedule of matches that can be promoted on a national, regional and local basis

Other objectives include:

  • The perpetuation of rugby as one of the national games in the USA and  North America
  • To promote the common interests of its members
  • To educate the public so that rugby gains popular support and acceptance as wholesome entertainment
  • To teach fair play and teamwork to young people through the medium of rugby
  • To promote civic pride and goodwill in and between local communities in which member clubs are located

The Rugby Super League, in conjunction with USA Rugby encourages league-wide sponsorship, licensing and broadcast agreements for the league with the purpose of promoting products and services through the medium of rugby - "The Global Game."
